The Raffle (1996)
In 1996, I placed an advert in the London 'Big Issue' magazeine, which read: "Win an Artist For a Day". The advert told of how I was raffling myself for 20p a ticket. I subsequently drew a winner out of a hat, and was won by London-based Jane Salathiel, who had possession of me for a whole day. The idea came about after I'd bought my first lottery ticket. It seemed to me that winning a person (for just a few hours) would be far more interesting than winning money.
